Urlacher Custom Guitar Models
I currently build five steel-string guitar models:
Urlacher Custom Parlor Guitar
The Parlor Guitar is a small-bodied guitar that packs in a surprising amount of volume and punch for its size. The 12 fret neck configuration contributes to a richness of tone that is perfect for expressive fingerstyle music. The shorter and wider neck makes this instrument very comfortable to play and gives it a similar feel to that of a classical guitar.

Urlacher Custom Small Concert Guitar
This guitar model was designed with three things in mind: comfort, portability and stage quality sound. A 14 fret body/neck configuration with the added cutaway make for accessible playing up the neck. Standard scale length is 25 inches and the lower bout measures 14 1/2 inches across. This Small Concert guitar model can fit in a classical size Visesnut guitar case and can be built with an optional 24 inch scale length.

Urlacher Custom Concert Guitar
The Concert Guitar is arguably one of the most versatile guitar designs. With strong, clear mids and highs, the body is compact and comfortable yet large enough to produce a well-balanced, broad tonal response. This mid-size instrument is ideal for the fingerstylist but also appropriate for the flatpicker.

Urlacher Custom Modern Dreadnought
It may be common for builders to start their catalog of guitar models with mid-size and large body guitars, and in time, add to the mix a small body guitar. For me it has been just the opposite. Near the time I launched my guitar making career, I was drawn to a parlor guitar that Joan Baez was playing in concert. I loved the rich tone and shimmery high-end. Over the years I have enjoyed the challenge of building smaller guitars that compete with the “biggies” for projection and fullness of tone. With that said, the dreadnought model has its place in the world of guitar music, known for its loud voice and robust low-end. I’m excited to be adding a modern dreadnought to the Urlacher line-up.

Urlacher Custom Tenor Guitar
A tenor guitar is a fretted four-stringed instrument which usually has a scale length of 23 inches and is often tuned in “fifths” to CGDA. It has been around for over 100 years and has been built by some of the most popular guitar companies. Today, the tenor guitar is finding a place in contemporary folk, as well as Celtic and other ethnic styles.
The Urlacher Tenor Guitar is loosely based off the Martin 0-18T. It has a slightly larger body than the Martin but a considerably smaller body than a standard OM shape. The scale length is the same at 23 inches, and I will be offering a six-string/24 in. scale version of this guitar as well.
